E-Solution:
The current market is focusing in developing and/or enabling existing systems to a Web Browser Interface (e.Commerce, e.Business). With this in mind, you can plan for the growth that success brings by designing and developing reliable, flexible, and scalable e-solution application.

We have the know-how and tools to rapidly develop, deploy and maintain business-critical applications (including order entry, inventory control, customer service and other database applications) that meet the most demanding criteria of Internet Transaction Processing (ITP) (I-net).

LABTECH helps organizations improve business efficiency, customer service and profitability by building simple, dynamic publishing applications that can scale up to industrial-strength Web database applications.

On this highly competitive world market we can bring essential mission critical application to the Web, giving a commercial and technological edge to companies wishing to increase and/or diversify their market share.

Today, competitive companies have or are in the process of developing Web based interface for their systems to enable them to substantially increase the reach of their products and services without a significant increase in the cost of hardware and networking.

To better understand what is involved in integrating a Web based interface to an existing system, observe the diagram (figure 1) which exemplifies a typical system environment with several types of user interface.

  • Host based is a character interface ideal for quick data entry, used in local network with terminal and/or terminal emulator.
  • Client/Server is the best solution for graphical interface. It runs over local or wide area network. Often you will need a more robust network with bigger PCs and a software distribution management.
  • Intranet is a Web Browser Interface installed in a local and/or wide area network. It is generally quicker than Client/Server and does not require fast networks or large PC.
  • Internet is also a Web Browser Interface, which can be accessed through the World Wide Web. It is ideal for companies that wish to penetrate the world market and/or has many branches and does not want to spend on a wide area network.

All types of user interface has its ideal use and can be mixed to allow the best results. The correct implementation of these interfaces will increase productivity and substantially decrease the cost of networking and the need for constant hardware upgrades.

As shown in the "Figure 1", a Web Server must be added and connected to your current application server. Very little or no changes are necessary to your current systems and/or databases. All the development necessary to implement a Web based interface is done on the Web Server not interfering with the production system.

With LABTECH expertise and experience we can quickly and cost effectively build Web applications that deliver powerful database connectivity, high transaction volumes, rapid responses, and unsurpassed scalability for corporate Intranet and Internet.

To minimize the impact on the client's system and/or personnel we approach a project in five distinct steps:

1. Verify the need of a Web Based interface.

  • What market is it trying to reach?
  • Is it going to be implemented in the Internet, Intranet or both?
  • Which functionality of the current system need to be converted?

2. Study the current system.

  • Which components (objects, procedures, programs) of the system can be re-used to minimize the time and cost of development?
  • What Database is being used?
  • How is the data distributed?

3. Survey the available Hardware (Servers and PCs)

  • Select an appropriate Web Server, if not available advice on the best solution currently in the market.
  • Verify what Web Browser is installed in the PCs, if necessary suggest one.
  • If applicable, go thought existing Network to better adjust it to the Intranet.
  • Research and advice on the best solution for the Internet (provider or direct line).

4. Develop and install the appropriate Web Based Interface.

5. Train the client personnel and maintain the new interface.

Following these steps in a structural and documented way has made it possible for us to accomplish great success in creating a modern and efficient Web Based Interface for companies in the most diversified and competitive markets.

In the near future, Internet will serve as a primary decision delivery platform for all enterprise applications specially self-support customer service databases for business-to-customer and closed-loop decision support among the various processes in the customer relationship chain.

By developing and deploying ITP applications your company will have a cost-effective, server-based applications that provide customers, business partners, and employees with direct access to business-critical information from corporate databases. LABTECH allows organizations to realize significant savings in time and money by streamlining customer service, business processes, and employee productivity.
